My Family

I have one and a half older brothers, and two younger sisters so I'm right smack in the middle. I've lived in Kotzebue, Alaska with my mama and daddy my whole life. I don't remember living anywhere else other than my house.

My daddy is Warren J. Schaeffer and my mama is Carol J. Biesemeier, otherwise known as Bunny Schaeffer. My oldest brother (who is my half brother) is Mickey M. Jorgenson, and my brother is Franklin D. Schaeffer. Then there's me, Helen Gwen Schaeffer, not to be mixed with Helen Geffe Schaeffer or Helen of Troy. Right after me is Janelle M. Schaeffer, or known as Nellie May. The baby of the family is Sara L. Schaeffer or Baby Lynne. Mickey lives in Anchorage (the biggest city in Alaska) with his fiancée and their daughter. Franklin is still living with us, with us being daddy, mama, Nellie, Baby, and I.

Mickey is 23 and out of school. Franklin is 18 and not schooling. Nellie May is 12 and in the 7th grade. Baby Lynne is 10 and in the 5th grade. Then there's me. I'm 15 and in the 10th grade. Nellie, I think, is the smartest 12 year old I know. She and I could be doing the same kind of math, since I'm no good in it. But I'm better at reading than she is, so we balance each other out nicely. Baby is sort of a miniature me. She looks like me, acts like me, and could dress like me, but she's kind of not into that kind of stuff. The only difference is that she has beautiful eyelashes, so she never has to use mascara, and she's more prettier (to me anyways). She's getting the same grades that I got when I was 10. It's kind of weird really, seeing someone else living my life. I'm just hoping that she doesn't get in too much trouble, like me. Franklin is like a trouble maker. What am I saying?! He is a trouble maker! Well, he's okay for a big brother, and he's nice when he wants to be, but there's just something about him that confuses me. I think it might be the clothes, or his friends, or it just may be because he's my brother and all brothers are supposed to weird. Mickey is an exception. He has a wife and a daughter named Kylie.

My mama works at the Northwest Arctic Borough School District as a personal. She's always traveling and busy. But she still has time for us kids. And that is why I nominate her for The Best Mother of the Year award! No, I'm kidding, mama. But in my book, she will always be the best.

Now my daddy works for KIC, I think, but I'm not sure what he does. He likes to hunt (who doesn't?), cook, work on our house, and carve. He's got a lot of bones and stuff to carve. He makes things like Eskimo faces and little animals. I like the bears the best. He's pretty cool for a father, and I'm glad that he's my daddy.

I guess that's it for my family.
